Hello everybody,
Pls. I'm in need INFORMATION for E/M specifically for PODIATRY I don't know what elements needed particularly the PHYSICAL EXAMINATION in order to meet the Level of Service for NEW AND ESTABLISHED visits.
Any PODIATRY CODER/S I really need your BIG HELP.

There really is no "official" e/m guidelines for podiatry.
They follow 95/97 guidelines just like everyone else, they obviously have limitations with high level e/m visits as they are restricted to lower extremities only.

You can look on the APMA website, they may have some "cheat sheets" or at least advice, they do have a FAQ section.

Podiatry E/M Guidelines

I have been coding podiatry for 12 years. Podiatry utilizes 95/97 musculoskeletal guidelines in determining the level of E/M based on the nature of the presenting problem(s) and the content of the exam which is limited to care and treatment of the lower extremity. Rarely, if never, would a DPM exam eyes, ENT, neck, GI, GU...due to license limitations imposed on this specialty. I have a cheat sheet that I use.
