When you have providers who facilitate office space owned by someone else i.e. the hospital, and the facility begins collecting a copayment, is this appropriate? I understood the copayment was always for the provider. Has anyone run up against this type of problem? Thank you ...

contract negototiations

Hello,
It depends on the contract between the facility and provider.

Currently our provider has a contract with MCCI and with provider staff collect the copay. Unfortunately MCCI is not set up and the patients are receiving bills from the facility. As the contract is an exception to standard MCI contracts we are having issues resolving these patient collection issues.
