Hi,
If we are billing for a U/S with the TC modifier POS 11 and the place that is reading the scan is billing the PC but using a different POS will that have any negative affect on us in any way?

I have an office that owns their own x-ray machines. We bill out TC and send the results off to the hospital so their radiologists can interpret and bill out the professional component.

What they are billing should not affect you, if you are coding and billing properly. I would send them documentation that shows how POS is determined. They are billing the interpretation so they should be using the POS of where the test was conducted, i.e. 11 for your office, 22 if outpatient hospital. They would then put the address of the facility where the reading was performed on the 1500.
