I need some help. We are a family practice office and we have one OB/GYN. My question is coding for a patient who was admitted for induction of labor on 1/26/10 and was released on 1/27/10 due to failure to progress. She was then admitted on 2/4/10 for induction and did deliver on 2/5/10. Can the 1/26/10-1/27/10 be coded seperately from the global, what modifier would be used to show it is seperate from the global since it is before the global dates of service? Also any suggestions on a diagnosis due to post dates? Thank you in advance for your help.
