We have a patient who had orthopedic surgery at our facility and was subsequently admitted to the hospital across the street on the same day for intractable pain, nausea, and vomiting - by the surgeon. I'm pretty sure he can't code for this because it is a post op complication not requiring a return to surgery. Just looking for support (one way or the other). Thanks all.
