This is the scenario:
Patient still in global period for surgery on the left elbow [99024].
Was seen also for follow-up of right elbow, now returning for MRI results, which
the doctor went over with him, and for which he now requires surgery on that elbow.
The doctor discussed treatment options, and patient wants elbow fixed. Procedure
discussed with patient, along with any catastrophic outcomes, and surgery will be scheduled at patient's convenience.
Physical exam was done, and he was tender at the lateral epicondyle, and patient
complained that elbow is still continuing to give him significant problems.
Would you orthos out there code this 99212-24 or 99213-24?
I say 99212-24?
