As I generally code Oncology, I thought I should ask for advice on this from people who are in the know on this topic.
MD performed 41010 four days ago. Now mom brings baby in and he wants to charge her an office visit with 24 modifier with dx for 783.41 weight check during this post op period. It seems like this is a bundled service. Would not a check on the weight be considered a logical follow up to this type of procedure?

Hi Tricia~
The baby would need a visit at this time even if the procedure was not performed. Pediatricians look for other concerns with baby and baby's weight at this time as well.

Weight Check

But the point is that the visit is SOLELY for a weight check. Baby is nursing better post procedure. I don't think an office visit should be charged if the visit has a post op period. He is charging for it.
 
Post Frenotomy

If it is related to the frenotomy shouldn't he use 58 modifier?
