If a patient had hernia surgery and came back into the hospital two days later for inguinal hematoma, can we bill for the admit h&p? The same surgeon did the admit h&p.

Stacy, No....sorry. The H&P will be included in the global period for the hernia surgery. If the surgeon drains it or performs any other procedure during the stay, he/she can bill for that procedure with a modifier, usually 78.
