Hello-

Can someone clarify if a block was done preoperatively in the OR for post op pain managment can be billed on the facility side if the surgeon did the block?

The surgeon doing these blocks is the same surgeon doing the procedure. It was my understanding that you cannot, even on the facility side, code for these if the surgeon did the block but only if the anesthesiologist did it and requested by the surgeon. I am questioning for commercial insurances not just Medicare as I know Medicare edits these out.
