:eek: surgeon does a postop visit (in global) for carotid endarterectomy. Surgeon also in that same visit reviews a different problem (renal artery stenosis).
can you only still bill 99024 postop visit?
or can you bill 99024 and an est visit 99212-24?
 
Documentation is key

If your documentation clearly supports an E/M visit, completely unrelated to the surgery, then yes, you can code it with the -24 modifier. I would not bother to code the follow-up visit, though, just muddies the water.
