I'm needing to develop an understanding for the use of 99024. Do any of your clinics even use this code and if so is it mainly for reporting reasons?
I've got a patient that rec'd an ORIF of distal radius 4 wks ago and was in for f/u and cast was replaced. Is there anything that's chargable or is it all part of global since it was related to the ORIF.

Our office uses the 99024 code while in the 90-day global period whether it's post-fracture or post-surgery. You can charge for the application of the replacement cast and supplies. During the 90-day follow up, you can also bill for any x-rays done during that time.

casting during global

also remember that the casting application should have a 58 modifier attached to indicate a planned service otherwise it will get denied.
