Does anyone have another suggestion? Can't find a CPT accept for the unlisted code 69799. Pt. had a tympanoplasty with mastoidectomy, radical with ossicular chain reconstruction. Post-op there was auricular bleeding. Pt. went back to op room the same day and the bleeding was controlled with cautery. Mod 78 would be applied if possible. Thank you.

I do not believe that there is any cpt code for cautery of a bleed in the auricule. You will have to use an unlisted code as you suspected and you are correct, the 78 modifier would be included
