Would this be considered billable for post partum follow up in the hospital? POD #2?

Doing well, afebrile, has adequate pain control.
Moderate distension, is passing gas and denies N/V, bowel regimen and ambulation reviewed
Routine PO care
Prophylactic Lovenox given prothrombin gene mutation (and hx anticardiolipin pos, 22 week demise in prior pregnancy), will continue for 6 wks pp

O99.13 and D68.61, or no because it says "Routine PO care", and the Lovenox is prophylactic?

Thank you.

Are you saying that your physician did not do the delivery and is only billing for postpartum care (and not a member of the practice that did do the delivery)? If so this note represents a separate billable service for inpatient care following a delivery. If not, the visit is included in the code you billed for the delivery. It is in fact routine, not a visit for a treatment of a complication.
