I am new at coding for spine surgeries and have a question? Dr did a posterior cervical wiring and fusion.
Not sure what code to use for this, I see 22841 but not sure that is the appropriate code for the wiring.
Any suggestions??

I am new at coding for spine surgeries and have a question? Dr did a posterior cervical wiring and fusion.
Not sure what code to use for this, I see 22841 but not sure that is the appropriate code for the wiring.
Any suggestions??

22841 would be used if he wired the spinous processes. If not then i would use 22842 if he wired 3 to 6 vertebral segments.
