Hello, I have a question. My doctor took care of her ob patient up until her water broke spontanously long story short when she got to hospital patient was in breech presentation and had to go in for C-section, which my doctor does not perform another ob/gyn doctor was called in to perform the c-section my doctor did not assist or anything. So my question is does my doctor bill out 59426 for the 8 visits that she was seen for her antepartum care, plus her postpartum ck 59430 which my doctor did on her 6 week ck? I know all of this would have been a global charge if it was an uncomplicated maternity case, but since things were broken up not sure how to billed for it.

Thanks

Yes, you are correct. If the doctor who did the C-Section is billing for the C-section (which s/he should), then you are left with the antepartum care and the post partum care. Don't forget to bill appropriately for whatever your doc did in the hospital before turning patient over the surgeon.
