Good afternoon,

My name is Sidney, I have 4.5 years experience in the medical field both on the clinical and clerical side of things. I also have a ton of experience with insurance policies and procedures. I passed the CPC exam in February of this year. I have been actively looking for a remote position. I am wondering if the practicode is really worth the $ to get the "A" removed from my certification. I have read many mixed reviews. After removing the "A" does it really increase your chances in getting hired?

Hi. Contact your prior employer(s) and see if they can use you for coding or re-hire with them in another position a little closer to the coding department, like medical records clerk or billing clerk. Then see if that will get you into the area you want.

I cannot say for certain because I did not do a lot of job hunting prior, but I was hired 3 weeks after removing my A.
