There is a possibility of a coding position opening up at the hospital I work at, and part of the hiring process is a pre-employment test. It's been three months since I received my CPC-A and some of my knowledge has slipped a bit. I'm trying to balance maintaining my knowledge (practice tests, videos, etc.) with avoiding burnout, especially if I don't get hired anytime soon. The problem is that I want to be ready but I also don't want to waste my time if the job takes a long time to become available or never gets posted. If anyone else has been in this situation I'd very much appreciate any advice you could give.

I have been in this situation before, and my best advice is to make sure you have your books (or theirs if they provide them) and be sure to know the updates to E/M and Guidelines. Do you know if you'll be tested in a specific area (Outpatient, ED, Inpatient, etc)?
