Wiki Pre op billing

It's been awhile since I billed for primary care, but historically used consult codes since the visit was requested by another physician, and you are sending a report back. Of course, many insurances now no longer accept consult codes, and for those you would definitely need to use new or established office visit.

Agreed with Thomas on the Dx code; I bill for a PCP/Internal Medicine Practice and we do pre-op visits all the time. We do not bill a consult code; we bill an office visit E/M as well as an EKG (which is requested from the surgeon 99% of the time). Hope that helps.

J2010

My question is with the J2010 being non payable with Medicare is there a DX code I can use to have this covered when the only time they give this injection is if the patient is allergic and can only use this?
