I have a few questions regarding surgical pre-op guidelines . Pre-op is not being done by Surgeon. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. All questions are related to NC Medicare's guidelines
1) a) For medically necessary labs related to surgical clearance - What is the acceptable timeframe to be performed? b) Will Medicare re-coup $ if surgery is cancelled?
2) Is there any documentation that states the surgery date must be listed on the claim for the clearance E/M or lab charges?
