What DX would you use for a patient who came into the ER for abdominal pain, nausea, & dizziness for several days & find out that they are pregnant? I was thinking Z33.1, but I am unsure. :confused:
 
Z33.1 is a secondary only code and can only be used white specific documentation indicating that the current condition is not affect the pregnancy. In this case the current condition is the pregnancy so use a code for pregnancy test positive. Z32.01
