I have an Orthopedic doc who sees a 6-7 month pregnant patient who's unborn child has clubfeet. What dx code would be appropriate? Thanks.

Hey,
I think we may use 648.7* or even other complications in preg'cy. B'coz when we use preg'cy complications code then the complications exists are in the mother's record not in
the fetus record. But I think we can use this.

I would suggest a code such as 655.8x (see includes note) b/c the recommendation of 648.7x identifies that the mother has a bone, joint disorder. In this example it is the fetus with the abnormality.
