We have started doing preoperative covid screening test collection visits. We are using Z11.59 for asymptomatic patients but of course many insurances including medicare do not cover and this is required prior to patient's surgery. Should we use Z03.818 instead? Or code Z01.818 primary? Has anyone heard if CMS will allow this code primary sometime soon since it is now on the CDC list as of 4/1/20.
