If you have two or more stable chronic diseases and your provider says to continue the medications that the patient is on; do you consider this prescription management? Is this a 99214? Everyone always has their own opionions and I am always going back and forth on this one. Is there a right or wrong answer to this?

hello -

To " continue " , does fall under prescription drug management. You do meet a 99214.

. "Prescription drug management" is based on documented evidence that the provider has evaluated the patient's medications as part of a service. This may be a prescription being written or discontinued, or a decision to maintain a current medication/dosage.
