Does anyone code Preventive and E/M on the same day for the chronical stable patient presenting for Preventive Medicine? Some doctors think that it's appropriate to bill both even though the a Preventive Medicine already includes an age/gender complete H&P.

Your opinion on this is greatly appreciated.

I feel your frustration. Currently I am working on that very issue and find it difficult to support my findings on the additional level the MD assigned. Of interest is that in our area, IN, NGS is going to be having a seminar on that very subject in April. Hopefully I can appease them until then.
