I am new to OB-GYN and was wondering about the Preventive Exam and diagnosis codes. It seems our NP/MD are using the 99401 - 99404 and putting down dx v72.41 (preg. exan or test, negative result). Of course we are getting denied. The documentation doesn't state anything else. Should they be using the 99212 - 99215 E/M codes instead?

Thank you for any help.
Connie

PS I read in information wrong. Patient had an legal abortion and coding Preventive Codes with V72.41 instead of 635.92 with an 99212 - 99215.
