can a sports physical (V70.3), be considered as being part of a Preventive exam? (99381-99397) Thank you for your assistance.
 
I work for an insurance carrier currently. I can not recall the exact DX code as I am not in the office...but we consider a "sports physical" routine as long as the policy includes routine benefits....

we bill the age appropriate preventive code (99393etc) with the V70.3 at the clinic i work for. since the sports px isn't generally the same as a well child visit etc we reduce the price. (our providers don't usually include developmental components etc and isn't a full px)
