I am currently a student with AAPC anticipating my CPC certification to be completed by March 2016. I am a new mom, and hoping for a remote position. Any experienced coders out there that can give me some advice or guidance on where to start, where to look and a realistic probability of getting remote work upon certification??? Greatly appreciated!!
 
I have worked in medical billing & coding for over 10 years & CPC certified. I have been looking for a remote coding position for a few months. Most companies require that you have anywhere from 1 to 5 years experience in coding. So I'm not sure the likely hood of you getting a remote position as soon as your finish your course. You may have to find a position in an office before you can get a remote position.
