I'm working with a new Dr., who's consulting on multiple site of the prostate referred to us an independent laboratory. We are trying to find out if he can consult on each site for the same date of service.

His consult code 88321 on different qradrunts of the prostate.
Rt Apex - H & E 88342 X 3 88321 X 1
Rt Mid, PIN x 3
Rt Bane - H & E 88321 x 1
Lt Apex - PIN 4 88342 x 3
Lt Mid - H & E - 88321
Lt bane - PIN4 88342 x 3

All are seperate specimen and the collection date is the same. according to the AMA CPT the 88321 is only billable once per day. We are receiving slide along with specimen and preparing the slide also for further detail.

Can my provider bill for more than one consult on same date of service requardless of how many specimen were sent?

Assuming all those immunostains are for the same three things, you've got 88321 x1 and 88342 x3. Consult units of service are determined by the date the original procedure was performed.
