We have recently became a department of our local hospital. This has enabled us to bill Provider Based Billing. Because we have never had to bill to Medicare Part A before, we have many questions and concerns. It would be great if we could get some experienced advise in this area.

Provider Based

I work for a Critical Access Hospital, physician billing. We add our claims to the hospital side on the UB 04. This is a requirement of our FI.

Hello,

We are currently processing 8 clinics as Provider Base Billing clinics. I would recommend that you process Part A with your Facility department . We did not handle it that way at the beginning and it has be very difficult. Do you have a current consultant working with you? If so, could you share the contact information. We have a few questions about turning our Onocology clinic over to PBB.

Thanks

Lisa

We have all our Office Visits PT B transfered to the Facility side. The Facility then bills the FI. I do not follow the payment side of things. I hope this helps. Also we do have the Critical Access Hospital rules the mandate how we do things.
