Do providers usually look at the Codes and billing before it goes to a insurance company?

It depends on the individual provider. I have worked for providers who did all of their own coding, other providers who had me do the coding, and still other providers who reviewed the codes I had selected before billing the claim. The more complex the specialty, the more likely the provider will want to see the claim before it is billed. It also depends on how much trust the provider has in the coder's ability.

I have some that do their own coding and I will review it for them. I have some who do their own coding and I just do the data entry. Then I have some who just do not want to deal with the coding as all and allow me to do all of their coding. It really depends on the provider's own specific preferences.
