Wouldn't that just be a symptom of his actual schizoaffective DO? I would just code that.

I asked one of the doctors and she said that it was a separate dx..... ???? I just cannot find anything for psychogenic polydipsia in the book or anything close to that. I'm new doing this so I'm not really sure.

somebody just suggested to code 316, and 783.5. Any opinions?

I would actually code 312.39 - "Other Disorders Of Impulse Control" - and if you want, go ahead and code the Polydipsia seperately as 783.5
There is no code for SPECIFICALLY "Psychogenic Polydipsia" that I have been able to find, either. There just are many things which are not properly classified or categorized under ICD-9 (another reason coders should welcome ICD-10)
