Do we use the pt modifier on just medicare cases or all cases with all payors?

CPT has a comparable modifier 33 for the same purposes. It's not in the CPT book, but is described here: http://www.ama-assn.org/ama1/pub/upload/mm/362/new-cpt-modifier-for-preventive-services.pdf
Commercial payers may prefer this modifier.

Are you saying we use modifier pt with medicare only and modifier 33 with commericial payors

That is what I've heard PT for medicare at 33 for others, but we have had so much trouble with both. Almost everything I have sent with 33 has been denied.
