Does anyone have some good information on PT Modifiers? We switched to a new system and I seem to be getting hit with more PT Modifiers then ever.

Try the modifiers GN ,GO , GP ,96 and 97 per episode and type of PT if it is new vs re-occurring. Add the referring doctor and if had visit date before treatment date submitting. ensure the dx codes list area of pain(back, thoracic neck ) not just dx G89.

Is the new system set up correctly? What are the edits hitting? What exactly did you want to know about PT modifiers? I am trying to be helpful but also, google the words PT modifiers or Physical Therapy Modifiers and you will find all you need. It's one of the most readily available coding Q&A topics. Having a new EMR or EHR shouldn't change this. One or the other is or was probably set up different/worse/better as far as internal edits go. Are you coding outpatient/clinic services? Is the system stopping the claim internally (pre-bill), rejected at the clearinghouse level, or are you getting actual denials? Checking individual payer requirements may also help.
