I'm seeing conflicting information from providers regarding applying a 59 modifier to same day OT and SLP claims. Is the 59 modifier required when OT/SLP is rendered in the same day within the same therapy clinic, different providers of course? I know PT and OT would require the 59 since the code sets are the same, but I'm seeing claims paid without the the 59 for OT/SLP and other practices are telling me it is required? My question would be specific to BCBSM, Michigan Medicaid and Aetna.
