if stents were done in the mid rca and distal rca i can only code 92928 (correct)???
can i code for just a ptca 92920 with that 92928 ????:confused:

ANSWER:In both cases report the stent procedure- 92928 once with the coronary modifier by the CA the stent was placed. For the 1st where it was all done in the Right coronary assign 92928-RC.
The second case is quite vague because a lot of different things facto into angioplasty and stents being performed synonymously, but if theyre performed in the same vessel ALWAYS report the Stent by itself as angioplasty bundles into same vessel stents.
 
You can not code for multiple interventions in the same vessel (i.e. proximal, mid, and distal lesions) from a single access into vessel. I hope this helps. Per- MEDLEARN publishing, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Cardiac Catheterization Coder 2016.
