Our nurse practitioners perform the PTNS procedure in the office. We were billing the CPT 64555 to Medicare and getting paid for this procedure. Recently, we started billing the unlisted CPT 64999, unlisted neurological procedure. This procedure code was recommended by AUA and Medicare for the PTNS treatment. Since we started billing Medicare with the unlisted code, Medicare is dening the claims, stating that the unlisted procedure is not in the scope of a Nurse Practitioner.

Can someone please help?
