I bill for the physician side and only include the Q0 or Q1 modifier with the clinical trial number 01999140 on defib implants for Medicare patients. However, I noticed that the hospital is including the modifier and clinical trial number on commercial patients as well? Is that correct? Should I be including this information for commercial insurance? :confused:
