Wiki Question about CPC-A and other certifications

So I recently passed my CPC exam and I am now a CPC-A. I am just wondering, if I take a specialty exam from AAPC, like the CPC-H exam, if I pass will I be a CPC-H? Or will I still be CPC-A. I know that I need 2 years of experience to drop the 'apprentice' from my name, but I was just wondering if I took a specialty exam if it would also drop the 'a'. Please let me know how this works! Thank you!

I already had 2 years experience when I passed my CPC exam. I now have another 2 years. How do I get the "A" dropped from my CPC?

You need to submit proof of your experience to AAPC.

PS - For the future, it's generally a better idea to post a new thread, rather than add a response to a post from 10 years ago.
