Is anyone else having trouble with Blue Medicare (formly known as Medicare Partners) paying for both cpt codes use to file the dexa scan. I help in a billing office that bills for Adult Medicine. Most of the doctors are Internal Medicine and some are Family Medicine. They own the dexa machine and the nurse does the dexa and the doctor interprets the scan. Medicare pays for both 77082 and 77080 but Blue Medicare denys the 77082 with this denial:
H2: DENY: DO NOT BILL MEMBER: INCLUDED IN GLOBAL, INAPPROPRIATE CODE/MODIFIER.
It was billed without a modifier and a screening code: v49.81.

Any suggestions

Thanks,

Sherry
