I need help understanding the lectures, at the end of each lecture in the eBook it allows you to code out documentation on your own and tells you if it correct. Unfortunately, every time a modifier 51 must be appended I forget to append it because I have been coding for 28 years and have gotten in the habit of not appending modifier 51 and the reason is that Medicare states to never append modifier 51 because their system automatically appends this modifier if you are billing more than one CT code, no matter which CPT codes are billed. My questions is, does anyone know if this is an issue when you take the exam? Must you append modifier 51 on the exam even though Medicare tells you not to append? Any feed back is very much appreciated. Thank you, Claudine
