can you bill an obersvation 99236 and then admit two days later? 99222
same doctor same hospital
 
You can not bill 99234-36 and then admit. 99234-36 are same day admit and discharge. You can charge a 99218-20 and then, if you Provider does a new H&P charge from the 99221-23 series. OR at least this is how we do it at my employer.
