Our physician performed a bilateral CPT 27096, Injection procedure for sacroiliac joint on a patient. Can I report CPT 73542, Radiological examination, twice since he did a bilateral procedure?

Did he truly do bilateral arthrograms? Or did he do bilateral SI joint injections for pain under fluoro guidance (77003)?

If he truly did bilateral diagnostic arthrograms with separate reports of the diagnostic findings, then you can code 73542 twice. I would, however, be really surprised if this is what he did.
