Hello,
We have been getting denials on procedure code J7609 for albuterol for insurance company GHI stating these services are not covered, states not medically necessary as determined by the payer. We had called GHI and were told the reason it is not medically necessary is because the patient can bring the albuterol on there on from a pharmacy, is this correct and in this case since this is a non covered service would we bill the patient? Also is there any other way to appeal this or possible submit this with a modifier?
