I get a lab order with the lab test the office wants the patient to have. Also on it is icd 10 codes that the office puts on the requisition. For example the patient is having a prenatal test and the office puts down z31.430 as the code. They also have marked that it is a twin pregnancy. Can I add o30.001 to the requisitions without calling the office since they did mark it down on the form as a twin pregnancy?

So my question is if they have it marked on the lab order, but don't have that code on there can I add the code without calling the office since the information is on the lab order.

Thanks,
April

If you are working at a lab, you can not change a physician's lab order. If you work with the office, you would want to communicate to the office that twin pregnancy dx code should be on the order and have them correct the order
