I have a physician that likes to perform the 37785; Ligation, division, and/or exision of varicose vein clusters. My question is: does he specifically need to state in his dictation that there was "a large cluster of varicose veins?" At times he has this phrase and others times he does not. I just want to make sure.

Any input is appreciated!

I have the same question. Does anyone out there have any guidance on documentation to support using 37785? Must the physician specifically state "clusters" in order to use this procedure code? Thanks!
