Hi everyone,

Does anyone bill facility E&M codes? Have you determined a method for leveling the facility codes? Just curious what everyone else is doing? Want to make sure we're covered for a CMS audit.

as long as you have your facilities method documented in the hospital policy and procedures. We gave ours a name, "the patient classification tool" and you follow the basic rules set forth. Such as must be apllied to all patients, cannot include procedure separately codeable with unique CPT codes, cannot be time drive, etc.
