We've been RAC'd for knee braces supplied to inpatient's. I know the hospital can't get paid for DME for an inpatient - but shouldn't we be able to be reimbursed? What place of service should have been used? Thanks!

Either office POS (11) or if Medicare DME should be Home POS (12).
 
Maybe it's because of the location it was billed under.
When I have to bring a brace or something over to the hospital when the doc is doing surgery on a patient, I bill it out with our office location along with either office place of service or home place of service (if Medicare) Not the hospital location.
