I code for Oncology and this is a commin situation. Now I need 2 codes and I am unsure about the 2nd one- the one about the source of the radiation.
This coding scenario requires two codes l59.8 Radiodermatis unspecified.
Use additional code to identify the source of the radiation (W88, W90)

There is not a code choice for Radiation therapy exactly.
Any ideas? W90.8xxS
 
I kept digging and I think I have answered my own question. I will post it here in case someone else is curious.
A definition of radiation dermatitis is a finidng of cutaneous inflammatory reacion occurring as a result of exposure to biologically effective levels of IONIZING radiation. That helped me out...ioning radiation.
So L58.9, W88.8xxS.
I am choosing S for sequela because the patient is not reacting to effects of the radiation, but to the dermatitis.
