I work for a urologist and when the radiologist performs the RFA he is telling my physician we should bill as "co-surgeons" however, when I talked with the radiology billing group the codes they were billing did not substantiate a co-surgeon modifier.
Please help me! This situation keeps resurfacing and makes me second guess myself. I need to know how the Urologist would bill for the RFA............................ASAP!

I'm getting ready to have the same conversation w/ my urologist. He wants to bill as an assistant surgeon for percutaneous cyrotherapy. I'm thinking the urologist should bill the 5.... CPT and the radiologist should bill the 7..... CPT.
