We are currently performing CT of the chest/abdomen images and the ordering doctor has also ordered T and L spine. We use some of the CT chest/abdomen images to recreate images of the T and L spine that will be read and dictated for a Neuro study. In regards to the Neuro study we are only charging a profee for the read. We are not currently charging a Technical fee. We have been doing this way to limit the amount of Radiation to the kiddos. One of our Radiologists thinks we should do separate images of the T and L spine if we are going to perform a read for the Neuro study and bill a profee or we should expose the patient to additional Radiation to do separate images of the T and L spine. So, basically i want to know which way would be complaint and also less harmful to the patient. Please let us know what your thoughts are.
